Meet the Smiths

Amanda

Amanda was born in Wichita, KS.  She grew up just south of there in Derby.  Her childhood days were filled with playing with her sister Samantha, swimming, attending Wichita State basketball games, visiting her grandparent's farm,  and always making sure she caught 'Little House on the Prairie' when it came on at 5pm.  (Amanda grew up without cable.)  Once her dad went into the ministry, her family moved to Ft. Wayne, IN where she attended Concordia Lutheran High School her freshman and sophomore years.  Then another move would take her family to New Orleans and yet another would take them to Paris, TN.  It was ironic because her uncle was living in Paris, France at the time.  Amanda was able to visit and she has always held a special place in her heart for Paris.  (Paris, France, that is.)  After graduating from Henry County High School she went to Murray State University and became involved with Alpha Delta Pi, intramural sports, Summer Orientation, Student Ambassadors and was a contestant in the Miss MSU pageant.  She graduated in 2008 with a degree in Education and accepted a job with the Office of Recruitment at Murray State.  There she met Jordan and they began dating.  They were married on November, 21, 2009 and, like they say, the rest is history.  Currently teaches 4th - 7th grade math, history, and science at New Covenant Christian Academy.

Jordan

Jordan was born in Blytheville, AR and grew up in Senath, MO.  He spent most of his childhood days visiting the many family members that lived in town, helping his dad with the cotton farmin', performing one man plays in his living room, and making his sister, Jessica, miserable.  He attended Senath-Hornersville High where he was Student Government President. After graduation, he went to Murray State University and majored in Political Science and Public Relations.  During college you could find him hanging out with his friends, helping with local campaigns, completing internships in Frankfort and Washington, DC, and fulfilling his duties as College Republicans President.  After a trip to China in 2008, Jordan accepted a job with the Office of Recruitment where he met Amanda.  Currently, he is working for Murray State University as Director of Government Affairs and Institutional Relations.

Shadow

Shadow was born on March 29th, 2010.  A handsome bundle coming into the world at 7.8 pounds and 19 inches.  His babyhood days were filled with such things like sleeping, eating, lounging around in his Boppy, being held by mommy or daddy, and exploring the world with his eyes, hands, and mouth.  Later on he discovered he could crawl around as he pleased in search for cell phones and remotes.  Nowadays, he not only walks, but runs.  Shadow enjoys reading and watching TV.  He is in 3rd grade at NCCA and participates in running club, academic team, and basketball.

Lincoln

Lincoln was born September 18th, 2015.  He was a sweet baby and big brother Shadow couldn't get enough of him.  Now that he is 3....he is our wild one, our dark horse, the resilient independent spirit that Jordan and I aren't quite sure how to handle.  But he is precious and is at the age where he can communicate what he likes and how he is feeling and is very funny.  He adores Shadow and always has to do what big brother does.  He likes Batman, Halloween, Puppy Dog Pals, among others. He attends daycare/preK at Milestones Learning Center.
